Our one day retreat in the beautiful English countryside is a lovely way of spending more time enhancing your well-being, enjoying good company and delicious food. You’ll be able to practice yoga and find out more about your emotional brain and how to enhance your sense of emotional heath to thrive in today’s world of pressure and stress.
The Peers Centre is a fabulous venue for a retreat, nestled in a valley with beautiful views of the fields that can be enjoyed from the decking area. We spend as much time outside as possible if the weather is kind enough!
The vibe on the day is relaxed and you don’t have to have lots of yoga experience to take part. You’ll be able to work at your own pace and modifications will be offered for all poses. The morning session will be a power vinyasa class, this will not only be a good physical workout but also enable us to become present in both our bodies and minds for the day ahead. The afternoon session will be a hatha style class, focusing on releasing specific parts of our body where we are known to hold tension and stress.
Between the yoga sessions we will explore emotional awareness, particularly how day-to-day stress can impact on us and how vital it is that we look after our emotional needs. You will be able to experience deep relaxation and visualisation and will enjoy a mindfulness walk as techniques to lower emotional arousal.
We also consider how our thoughts can dominate who we are and how we feel, and identify ways to put the real ‘us’ back in control. The day will conclude with the opportunity for you to consider how you can thrive on your own personal journey moving forwards.
